What makes our pricing different is the clarity. When we state a course price, that figure includes your training, assessment, and certification. Course fees cover your tuition, ongoing support throughout your training, and your qualification certificate upon completion. The only additional costs are clearly identified items like professional kits (which you keep), VTCT examination fees for nationally recognised qualifications (£150), and any optional equipment upgrades you might choose.
Students who pay their course fees in full at least one month before their start date automatically receive a 10% discount on selected foundation courses. OnTheFloor Bootcamp Training Options
OnTheFloor is the bespoke course created by Alan d for qualified hairdressers and barbers. These intensive bootcamp programmes are aimed at those who have left college with a qualification but do not feel confident or skilful enough to work on the salon floor, or those needing to brush up on a specific skill. The training concentrates on cutting, colouring, styling, and barbering in flexible blocks of 1, 3, 5, or 10 days.
OnTheFloor is open to all ages and offers no theory, no exams, and up to 10 days of practical training. You choose what you want to learn and the number of days you want to train. This barbering or hairdressing bootcamp will increase your skill levels and boost your confidence. You will be awarded an Alan d certificate on the completion of any of the below bootcamps.

Understanding Your Payment Options
You have to pay a deposit to secure your place, then your first weekly instalment is due on your start date. Remaining instalments are paid weekly until your course is fully covered. Deposits range from £500 to £1,200 depending on your programme.
We accept bank transfer, debit card, and credit card. Set up a standing order for automatic weekly payments if you prefer.
If you need to pause or modify your payment plan, contact our team immediately. We’ll work with you to find a solution, though course completion may be delayed until payments are current.

What Every Course Includes
Realistic salon training. Learn in authentic salon conditions with real clients, actual time pressures, and professional expectations. This immersive environment prepares you for immediate employment after qualification.
Hands-on client experience. From early in your programme, you work with live models representing different hair types, styles, and requirements. Build your confidence and communication skills whilst developing technical abilities under expert supervision.

What’s not included. Professional equipment kits are additional (though you keep them permanently). VTCT examination and certification fees are £150 extra for nationally recognised qualifications. Dress code is smart casual, no uniform required. Optional modules like wet shaving for barbering courses can be added for extra cost.

No prior qualifications or experience are needed for our foundation and comprehensive courses. These are designed for complete beginners. For intermediate courses like OnTheFloor bootcamps and refresher training, you’ll need existing hairdressing or barbering experience. Level 3 NVQ courses require you to already hold a Level 2 qualification or equivalent professional experience.
For students aged 16-18, government apprenticeship funding may be available. Contact our team to discuss eligibility and application support. For adult learners, we offer flexible weekly payment plans with no interest charges to make training affordable. Unfortunately, we don’t currently offer student loans or bursaries.
Yes, all students are covered under Alan d’s professional insurance when working with models and clients during your course. This allows you to gain genuine salon experience in a safe, supervised environment. Upon completing your qualification, you’ll need to arrange your own professional insurance for employment.
VTCT courses include ongoing assessment throughout your training, so your instructors can identify any areas needing improvement well before the final assessment. If you don’t pass a particular unit on your first attempt, you can retake the assessment. Your instructors will provide additional support and guidance to help you succeed.
Yes, many of our courses offer part-time schedules. Full-time courses run Monday to Friday, 10 am to 3:30 pm, while part-time training can be arranged by agreement. We understand that life happens. You can place your training on hold for up to six months for any reason without penalty. Foundation and beginner courses start monthly, while intermediate and advanced courses start by request.
